The pineal gland is a small pea sized spot in the middle of your brain connected to the spinal cord and the cerebellum. The pineal gland is associated with the third eye chakra and has been found to secrete very important chemicals for our physical and spiritual health and wellbeing. Under normal circumstances the pineal secretes melatonin which is responsible for keeping us calm and helping us sleep. However if stimulated it has been found that the pineal can release different metabolites of melatonin such as oxytocin, the chemical responsible for the feeling of love, as well as DMT (dimethyltryptamine) which is one of the most powerful hallucinogens known to man. DMT, sometimes called the spirit molecule, is responsible for creating our dreams, as well as showing up in extreme quantities during the death experience. It is no wonder then, that the activation of the pineal is associated with the third eye, and seeing things that can’t be seen under normal conditions.
The following are a couple of techniques, that I have picked up from various teachers, that I have found to be very useful in stimulating the pineal gland and creating very powerful meditative and awakening experiences.
The first of these techniques is very simple. All you need to do is say out loud and vibrate the word ONG. This must be said out loud, and the louder you say it the better. It is very similar to the OM mantra, as you vibrate the NG the longest. Like so: ONNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG. When done properly this should vibrate the area near your forehead and eventually work its way further back. The longer you do this and the more often you do this, the more dramatic the results will be over time. I believe I picked this up from a monk I had read about but I can’t remember which one, perhaps Jon Peniel? I digress.
The second technique is a lot more involved and takes a fair bit of practice to get just right. It starts at the base of the spine at the root chakra and works its way up the spine to the pineal. This technique is one that I was directed to through my work with Azazel; I found a similar technique in the book “Becoming Supernatural” by Dr. Joe Dispenza.
Step 1. Get into a comfortable sitting position. Sitting cross legged is helpful.
Step 2. Straighten your back.
Step 3. Thrust your pelvis forward.
Step 4. Begin deep breathing in as deep as you can, hold, then breathe out as deep as you can, and again hold, continue this cycle.
Step 5. Pull in your abs and flex them holding them in all while keeping your back straight and continuing deep breathing.
Step 6. Place your conscious thoughts on where your pineal gland would be, if you have trouble envisioning this then put your focus in the middle of your brain between your ears.
Step 7. At the end of your deep breath hold it in as long as you can, then breathe out deeply, all while holding your pelvis forward, abs in and flexed, back straight, and your focus on your pineal gland.
Step 8. Continue this breathing cycle all while holding your body the way you have been. Breath in deep, hold as long as you can, breathe out.
Thats it! Easy right? well it will take a lot of practice to get just right, but if you continue to do this you will eventually reap some pretty wonderful rewards. The theory I have behind why this works is you are activating your adrenal glands and then sending the energy up your spine to the pineal and helping it to secrete those wonderful metabolites of oxytocin and DMT. This practice works especially well first thing in the morning and right before bed, as the brain can easily enter deep states of meditation at these times.
The results will vary from person to person, but eventually you can most likely expect feelings of euphoria, oneness with the universe, a sense of greater peace and connectedness, and even sensations of floating and out of body experiences.
