Hemp seed oil is a natural, whole food product rich in Omega’s 3-6-9 (Essential Fatty Acids) and Vitamin E. It has the perfect ratio of Omega 6 to Omega 3 (3:1), and contains Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA). Great for digestive health, joint health, and brain health. Supports healthy skin, hair, nails, and eyes. Healthy fats aren’t called Essential for nothing! You will feel, and likely even see, the benefits.
Unlike fish oil, it does not contain mercury, PCB’s, or other toxins. Hemp oil is more shelf stable, and will not give you the fish burps! Believe it or not, fish don’t actually make Omegas – they get them from the algae that they eat, so these essential fatty acids are already broken down (metabolized) by the time we get them. Our body can not reverse metabolize, so you are missing the key, mother essential fatty acids if you are going after EPA and/or DHA. We often wonder if it’s really sustainable to net fish from our oceans and press their oil, and how long it will take our ecosystem to repopulate. Hemp seed oil is a great plant based alternative that provides all of the benefits (or more if you ask us). It is safe for people with allergies to seafood, and a great alternative for vegans, vegetarians, etc.
Use it in a wide range of recipes, consume on its own as a dietary supplement, or apply topically as moisturizing oil.
Hemp seed oil has a flavorful, nutty taste and can be used in a wide range of applications such as sauces, dips, marinades and salad dressings or added to smoothies. Trans fat and cholesterol free.
The smoke point of hemp seed oil is quite low (330 degrees Fahrenheit) so cooking with it is only recommended on low heat.
